This morning, I decided to channel a mix of vintage flair and contemporary chic with my outfit choice. My 'fit started with an oversized vintage red Escada blazer, paired with Levi's gaucho jeans. The jeans had 0 stretch in the material and I felt like I was wearing a thick paper bag around my ass. My choice of footwear was deliberate: Christian Louboutin shoes.
But perhaps the most intriguing aspect of my outfit today was my choice of accessories. I opted for not one, but two purses. A Louis Vuitton bag for its timeless elegance and functionality, and a vintage silk Anne Klein purse for its unique charm and sentimental value.
My day revolved around conducting interviews with candidates for various positions for my company. It's always fascinating to meet new people and learn about their aspirations and experiences.
During the interviews, I observed a stark contrast between the candidates. On one end of the spectrum were individuals who arrived prepared with detailed resumes, portfolios showcasing their work, and a clear passion for the role they were applying for. Their professionalism and dedication were evident from the moment they walked in.
On the other end were candidates whose approach seemed casual, even careless. While I'm understanding of nerves and first impressions, there are certain attitudes and behaviors that can't be overlooked in a professional setting.
One candidate's response stood out in particular. When asked about her previous work experience, she candidly shared a story that left me momentarily speechless. She had been fired from her previous job after being caught in a compromising situation with her boyfriend (coworker) in the workplace. "I was fired because my manager caught me and my boyfriend hooking up in the backroom," she said casually. YA GIRL WAS SPEECHLESS.
