If I’m “Too Much,” Then Go Find Less

If I’m “Too Much,” Then Go Find Less

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been told I’m “too much.” Too passionate, too driven, too “extra.” My life motto? Simple: If I’m too much, then go find less. This isn’t just a catchphrase for me—it’s the way I approach relationships, friendships, and everything else that holds meaning in my life. I refuse to shrink myself to fit anyone else’s comfort zone. My energy, my enthusiasm, and my standards aren’t something I’ll apologize for or tone down. If they make some people uncomfortable, then maybe I’m not their cup of tea, and that’s okay; because I am a cup of tequila, mixed with glitter, spice and everything nice.

In any sphere I step into, I go all in. For me, “extra” doesn’t mean showing off or seeking attention. It means caring enough to put in the work, showing up with everything I’ve got, and investing in the people, places, and passions I love. If I’m in a friendship, I’m all there; if I’m building something in business or creating a vision, I’m doing it with my whole heart. Going above and beyond isn’t about excess—it’s about integrity and living a life that feels real and true to me.

To those who think being “too much” is a flaw, I say: maybe that’s a reflection of something they’re lacking or holding back on in their own lives. I choose not to come from a mindset of scarcity or fear; I see life as full of possibility, and I’ll keep embracing it without worrying whether it’s palatable for someone else.

So, the next time someone tries to tell you that you’re doing “too much,” remember: you’re not required to play small for anyone’s comfort. You don’t have to fit into anyone else’s idea of “just right.” Embrace it, be as “extra” as you want to be, and live boldly.

EXTRA FOREVER,

ALE
